Our Values

We set out below Flynnthedog Ltd’s values and ethics within the area in which we live and work.  We recognise that we are not perfect but we believe in being kind to our pets and kind to our planet.

Animal Welfare

None of the ingredients in our products or the final products are tested on animals. However, we would not sell anything that we haven’t tried. So, as we believe 100% in our products, we were more than happy for our dog to use them.  Below is our official statement regarding animal testing.

“Dog Hair Day believes that dog grooming products should be cruelty free. We are proud to be Leaping Bunny approved. A global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements.

All Dog Hair Day dog grooming products are certified as not tested on animals under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme, the international gold standard for products that are free from animal testing. We adhere to a fixed cut-off date policy and proactively monitor our suppliers to ensure that our products continue to adhere to the Leaping Bunny criteria. Our supplier monitoring system is also open to independent audit.

We are also endorsed by Naturewatch Foundation and accredited by The Ethical Company Good Shopping Guide.

Some products on the market are classed as organic but they can still contain potentially harmful ingredients. We decided rather to concentrate on making sure the ingredients we used were of the highest quality and as safe as possible.

As we believe in being totally transparent we list all our ingredients on our labels We also give a fuller explanation of the ingredients on the website.

Ethical Purchasing

We promote positive buying. When sourcing products we want to know that the people who make them are treated well and paid a fair wage. We always try to use UK products but some of the herbs use in our shampoos are imported. However they are sourced using our principles.

Wherever possible, when producing printed material this is done using recycled paper and vegetable-based inks.

Although our products are sold nationally we like to work with local businesses. Our writer and editor, graphic and website designer all live and work locally.  Our largest supplier, although not local, was chosen because their values and ethics match our own.

We have designed a product that needs minimal packaging that can be recycled or refilled. When shipping our aim is to use recycled packaging. When this isn’t possible we try to use packaging that can be recycled.
