Cocamidopropyl Betaine
Is a mild aqueous surfactant solution derived from coconut oil. It provides good foaming and foam liquid stabilisation with great wetting properties. It also helps to build viscosity and gives a smooth feel
Coco-Glucoside
A natural non-ionic surfactant that is a very mild and gentle cleansing agent making it ideal for sensitive skin
Frankincense oil (Boswellia Carterii)
Which is anti-inflammatory
Lavender (Lavandula Augustifolia)
Is great for disinfecting the scalp and skin and enhancing blood circulation
Limonene
Is a naturally occurring fragrance compound found in the rind of citrus fruits
Linalool
Is a naturally occurring alcohol found in many flowers and spice plants. It is used as a scent in many products and also has some insecticidal properties
Mandarin (Citrus Nobilis)
Is a great cleanser and soother
Marigold (Calendula Officinalis)
Has been thought to be effective in the treatment of conditions such as rash allergies eczema and dermatitis
Marshmallow (Althaea Officinalis)
Traditionally used as a skin rejuvenator
Nettle (Urtica Dioica)
Has been traditionally used to prevent hair loss
Phenoxyethanol
An aromatic used as a preservative
Polysorbate 80
Is used as a hair thickener
Potassium Sorbate
Is a preservative widely used in food, wine and personal care products
Roman Chamomile (Anthemis Nobilis)
Has calming and anti-bacterial properties fighting skin inflammation and aiding the healing of minor scrapes and cuts
Rosemary Oil and Rosemary Leaf Extract
Has been used as a hair tonic for centuries and traditionally used for added shine
Sage (Salvia Officinalis leaf extract)
Acts as a disinfectant and deodoriser adding softness and shine to fur and can leave skin feeling invigorated
Sodium Chloride
This is salt which is commonly used in shampoos as a thickener creating a rich thick and luxurious feel
Sodium Coco Sulfate (SCS)
We used SCS rather than pure Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) as it is generaly regarded as being a gentler surfactant
Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia)
Can act as a disinfectant and deodoriser and help with minor skin complaints and keeping pets insect-free
Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate
Is a multi-purpose clear liquid chelating agent and preservative booster. In the context of a shampoo a chelating ingredient helps to stabilise the mixture and enable good lathering. Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate is made from plant material and has high solubility over a wide pH range. It is much more readily biodegradable than the more commonly found ethylenediaminetetraacetate (EDTA)
